Anna Barbara Kastelewicz

Anna Barbara Kastelewicz received her violin education at the Music College Hanns Eisler in Berlin and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with specialization in baroque violin. Another study period led her to Professor Fuks at Indiana University in Bloomington / Indiana in the USA. She gained wide musical experience in various classical orchestras, such as the concert house orchestra berlin (Konzerthausorchester Berlin) and the German Opera at the Rhine (Deutsche Oper am Rhein), as well as in working with conductors such as Kurt Masur and Lorin Maazel.

Anna Barbara Kastelewicz works as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster. With performances and concert tours in Germany, Europe and Asia she is present nationally as much as internationally. She is playing and recording for broadcast, TV and various media-recordings. Her repertoire ranges from Renaissance to Contemporary and includes musicals and jazz. Anna Barbara Kastelewicz designs her own concert projects for various events, with the repertoire ranging from the Baroque to Modern Music.

She founded two project orchestras, the new baroque orchestra berlin and the new concert orchestra berlin which she directs and manages as the concert master herself. Anna Barbara Kastelewicz is a lecturer at universities for music. Intensively she is dedicated to the musicology through the edition and interpretation of contemporary composers. Born in Berlin, she resides as a freelance artist in the city.
